Be smart, get garden insurance

Most people have home insurance that covers everything inside their homes, but what about garden insurance?

What about all the money you invested on a professional garden designer in order to have the garden looking as good as its now or the investment you made a new set of designer garden furniture that will last for years? What if something happens? Do you have garden insurance?

Good quality garden equipment and tools aren’t cheap and good furniture, accessories, pots, containers and even plants, can all add up to a good-sized sum.

Besides the risk from vandalism and weather that is more and more unpredictable and extreme, there are also the risks when using the garden, during parties for instance. Replacing items or fixing damages can be expensive and these extra bills might arrive at the wrong time for you.

Garden insurance will protect your garden and in doing it, will protect you and your family. It's a fact that a garden and other outdoor spaces, add value to a home and so even if you plan to sell it, you will be protecting your future.

So where to start? First check if your home insurance policy also covers your garden and all the assets you have there (garden equipment, shed, tools, outdoor furniture, decoration accessories, outdoor kitchen, plants and trees...). If not, ask for a quote for garden insurance.

If your home policy covers the garden, then check exactly what and how much does it cover and see if that value is high enough to cover all the investment you made so far in your garden. If not, probably with a small monthly premium, you will be able to sleep better with the knowledge that no matter what, your garden and outdoor assets are safe.
